FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What should I wear to the ceremony and reception?
The dress code is sub-tropical cocktail. Think: linen shirts, linen suits, sleeveless cocktail dresses, sunglasses, and SPF50+ (that one’s a must!). Don’t think: three piece suits, jeans, fancy hats, or anything you might wear in the UK at the moment!
We encourage anyone wearing heels to go for a block or wedge heel over a stiletto so as to minimise your chance of sinking into any grass, sand, or gaps in the boardwalk!
Where is the ceremony, and when does it start?
The ceremony is at Maison La Plage (which is a park overlooking Noosa Heads Main Beach). If you’re in the right place, you’ll be in a grassy little park, with a block of apartments called ‘Maison’ behind you and the beach in front of you. You’ll probably spot the chuppah, chairs, flowers, signage etc too!
Please arrive at Maison La Plage at 3:30 pm sharp.
For more information, head to our ‘The Ceremony’ page.
Where is the reception, when does it start, and when does it finish?
The reception is at Sails (which is a restaurant also overlooking Noosa Heads Main Beach - how convenient!). Please arrive at Sails from 5:00 pm. Drinks and canapes will be served immediately upon your arrival.
‘Carriages’ (as the English say!) are at 11:30 pm, but you obviously don’t have to stay right until the end!
For more information, head to our ‘The Reception’ page.
What happens if it rains before/during the reception?
We’ve got our fingers crossed for a fine day, but if that’s not the case, we have hired umbrellas for everyone which should keep you dry!
How far apart are the ceremony to the reception, and how do I get between them?
Sails and Maison La Plage are about 700 m apart, so even allowing for a few selfies along the way, it should be less than a ten minute walk.
You have two options for getting from the ceremony to the reception: either walk along the boardwalk itself (this allows you a view of the beach), or walk along Hastings St (this provides for a slightly smoother walk). There is a handy map here.
How should I get to the ceremony/from the reception?
As anyone who has ever visited Noosa will attest, parking is a real challenge. Unless you’re arriving first thing in the morning or last thing at night, it may take you a long time to find a park (if you can find one at all!). For that reason, we strongly recommend getting a taxi or an Uber if that is a possibility for you. If you do want or need to drive, there is (expensive!) paid parking nearby at the Sofitel/at Bay Village Noosa.
